Dog Falls is a picturesque waterfall located in the Cairngorms National Park, Scotland. The falls consist of a series of cascades that flow down a rocky slope, creating a breathtaking display of natural beauty. The water flows from the River Dee, which originates from the highest mountain range in the British Isles. The falls are surrounded by lush greenery and offer a serene atmosphere, making it a popular spot for hikers and nature lovers.
The red Dog Falls trail turns into a larger forest road towards the halfway point of it. Still worth it as nature is stunning here. Wish they had been able to design this trail as only a single trail narrow path. So deducting 1 star as it could've really been fantastic. End of September we had the place to ourselves.
Absolutely stunning! Wildlife everywhere great day out! A must when travelling through or past Beauly.
Nice walk, but the waterfall is pretty disappointing. You are unable to see much, as there is only a small viewing area, blocked by trees. But the walks are very nice, and they had a nice trail to do, which you have to find out who killed a bird. Only downside is that it was PS3 to park, but helps with upkeep of toilets and trails.
We visited the dog falls at the start of Glen Affric as part of one of the woodland trails from the car park (it was 3 pounds for the day). The paths were good and getting to the falls was straightforward and the dog (our four legged companion) was keen to watch the water too. It was easy to combine parts of several trails and got to the viewpoint over loch beinn a mheadhoin. Had a great time and would thoroughly recommend a visit.
Nice walk with stunning views across Glen Affric. We took Stanley (@stanley_the_scottish_schnoodle) around the yellow route which is very slippy with tree roots and boulders at first from the car park until you reach Dog Falls. You have to cross the single track road a couple of times. After that the paths are well maintained and a gentle pleasant loop around the forest.
Lots of varying lengths of walks (all strenuous) , good sized car park with toilets. Great place for a walk. Car park is PS3 for all day ( May 2023), take change, machine used Ringo but neither of us had mobile signal (EE & Vodafone)
Good for kids
