Nice day starting at the Dover Museum and Bronze Age Boat Gallery, then Dover Castle and continuing my way with these beautiful views of the White Cliffs of Dover, until reaching South Foreland Lighthouses.

It was an interesting experience to visit this museum. The Dover Museum was indeed much more than just a local history and archaeology museum. Situated in the town centre of Dover, Britain's historic port town, this modern museum tells the fascinating story of this rich and important area. Dover itself was an important crossing point between England and Europe at least since the bronze era which started in Britain since 2,000 years before our common era. Various artefacts are displayed in this museum, comprising the neolithic period, iron and bronze age, roman occupancy, the anglo-saxon period until the norman regime, from this area. As its jewel, this museum hosts a prehistoric wooden boat thought to be some 3,500 years old. This boat was found under the old harbour of Dover, where it was assumed that the Roman empire forces arrived in the year 43. The boat however is older than the roman occupation. The museum is free from charge.

**Rating: ** The Dover Museum and Bronze Age Boat exceeded my expectations. The Bronze Age boat is absolutely stunning--standing in front of it, you can't help but reflect on how far back in time it takes you. It's amazing to think about how fleeting time is when you're looking at something so intricately made from thousands of years ago. The rest of the museum is filled with interesting artifacts from different eras, making it a great place to explore for a bit while you're visiting Dover. Definitely worth a visit!

I was very impressed. Good exhibits, one can tell that a lot of work went into them; plenty of information, just large enough to make it an hour or so visit if you have time to kill in the town. Not really for children, I would advise taking from 7 up; my youngest got a little bored, but that was to be expected.

This free museum offers some interesting exhibits across three floors. It's a good way to pass half an hour ish as it's not very large but provides an engaging experience.
