Memorial set in a lovely area with views out to the sea. There is a few places to park nearby, but not many and the road / lane leading to it isn't the best kept in the world. Loads of paths if you are walking however....!

A fitting memorial situated in a lovely coastal location overlooking the channel. A small amount of parking is available opposite the memorial. Excellent walks south to Dover or north to Kingsdown take in some of the finest scenery the Kent coast has to offer, combining pleasant rural countryside with sea views.

Beautiful stunning part of the Kent coast and I'd hasten to say the walk down to Kingsdown is my favourite. It's one of the only stretches where you don't see a house - sadly soon to be ruined by someone who is building a house there (see 1st photo in the distance - large land clearing at the end) which means this will now have a large house, ruining one of the last, natural unspoilt bucolic views of Kent coastline. The monument itself is a poignant reminder of the past (my grandfather was at Dunkirk) and dedicated to The Dover Patrol. **Just to note (and not a moan) so it's no surprise on arrival for those paying respect - this seems to be a hotspot for large, overnight, EU Winnabego stlye camper vans. Kind of kills the ambience of the place to be honest and I'm a camper (early photos as I'd slept out on the cliffs bivvy style to get morning photos). Thought it worth mentioning so you don't get a surprise.

This is a lovely place to start an amazing walk, the road is very ruff to get there. Take snacks and drinks because there's no cafe or loos. To make up for all of that is the most stunning view of the cliffs and channel. On a good day it looks as if you could reach out and touch France. Definitely worth a visit.

Thus is the start of a beautiful walk from St Margaret at Cliffe to Deal along the cliff top of the famous White cliffs of Dover. It quite a walk through fields so suitable footware and refreshments are recommended.

A peaceful place thanks to the terrible access road. Beautiful views too.
