Bournemouth and Poole MGOC had 22 members cars attend the Classic Card Event on Saturday. All was great apart from our allotted area was a bit small, but we managed. Considering the many thousands of public that turned up two temporary toilets were not enough but somehow people managed . We enjoyed the day and the weather was perfect plenty to see and a great atmosphere.
Beautiful country fair in a stunning location. Well worth a visit
Great to have the Cuckoo Fair back . Parking at the local school means even if you arrive late there's always place for minimal charge . A very well organised event with plenty to see and do not forgetting all the numerous selling there specialitys . Well done to everyone concerned in organising and contributing to the fair and it's good to see for young and old some of the old village traditions going strong still in Downtown .
Very good event although the car event was very well marked and we only saw the signs as we were getting the bus back to Salisbury. Buses were a nightmare as normal. Would be nicer to see more stalls for charities
Sad to say there has been less unique stools for past couple of years and more of the same sort of stuff you can get anywhere but still a great day out if you have never been or weren't a returning local. Having family in the village still and having gone since young, I won't lie and it has lost some of its appeal for us. It used to be great and could always find unique items or locally made hand crafted items but each year recently there has been less and less unique and more and more mass produced with over the top prices or food stools which for me spoils it really. Don't get me wrong it is still a really good family day out with lots to see and do, our kids still nag us to go each year and they love the fair and the have a go circus not to mention seeing the live birds (ducks and chickens etc) just sad to see the local products made by local villagers being real replaced with stuff you can get from any market.
Unmissable Wiltshire event. Hundreds of high quality craft, food and interior decoration stalls line the main Street of Downton. Easy parking if you get there early (9 ish). Cost PS5. Local charities benefit. You could easily spend the whole day there soaking up the atmosphere.
