Draycote Water is a 240-hectare reservoir and country park that draws its water from River Leam which then supplies drinking water to Rugby and Coventry. Draycote Water has everything you need for a great day out, with plenty of activities and things to do.
**Review for Draycote Water in Rugby:** Draycote Water is a fantastic spot in Rugby for a peaceful day out in nature. The large, tranquil lake is perfect for a leisurely walk, with a well-maintained pathway that makes it easy to navigate. It's a great place to bring the family, with plenty of green spaces where you can set up a picnic and enjoy the serene environment. One of the best things about Draycote Water is that entry is completely free, making it an affordable option for a day out. The parking fees are reasonable too, with PS3 for two hours or PS5 for the entire day, so you can stay as long as you like without breaking the bank. Plus, there's a spacious car park, so finding a spot is never an issue. The amenities are excellent, with clean and well-maintained toilets at the entrance, and a restaurant where you can grab a meal or a snack. The ice creams here are especially good--definitely a must-try! There's also a play area for kids, which adds to the family-friendly appeal. Do note that the closing time has recently changed to 6:30 PM, so plan your visit accordingly. Whether you're looking to relax, take a peaceful walk, or spend quality time with your family, Draycote Water is the perfect destination. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a tranquil escape with great facilities and beautiful surroundings.
Beautiful place to visit with woodlands, water and greens around excellent day out place if you are lucky windy day you will see lots of boats around from the Boat Club house.
Lovely place to walk, nice reservoir however not very well sign posted that the path is closed due to ongoing building walk which is 4.5 ish miles round it. It was very infuriating that we had to go in to wooded areas; climb over various barbed wire fences, and through farmers fields to save us walking back the 4.5 miles we had just done. The walk itself is supposed to be 5 miles but we probably did about 7 in the end. There were lots of others which made the same mistake as us however, chose to walk the 4.5 miles back.
Really nice lovely reservoir, absolutely beautiful in terms of natural scenic views. Absolute must in the summer but you'll have to make sure your in good walking shoes or boots as walking around the reservoir takes time. Lots of flies so insect repellent is a must! Picnic area consists of a few benches which are no where near the reservoir so I'd skip on that. Visitors centre is good, refreshments and lavoratories. You just pay for parking and all is good. We left after 6:30pm which is closing time and it seemed people were still there so not sure how that works.
Nice walk around the reservoir, although part of it was closed when we visited, so we had to go back on ourselves. Nice cafe on site too.
Beautiful and clean, nice to walk around :)
