This enchanting woodland walk in Berkshire, England, transports visitors to a mystical realm. Meandering paths guide explorers through a tranquil landscape of towering trees, their gnarled branches twisted with age. Dappled sunlight filters through the canopy above, casting an ethereal glow on the forest floor. The air is alive with the sweet songs of birds and the gentle rustle of leaves. As visitors wander deeper into the woods, they may stumble upon hidden clearings, ancient ruins, and mysterious artifacts, fueling the imagination and sparking a sense of wonder.
Has to be one of my favourite woodlands in Norfolk. The atmosphere is inviting, but sometimes eerie due to how twisted and old the trees look. Great for walking and cycling. It's a shame the car park isn't what it used to be.
First visit here. Lovely woodland area. Great for an afternoon stroll. Dogs would love it here. Some of the minor paths were flooded and impassable due to all the rain we've had lately.
The parking is not great on the day I visited -although parking spaces it's maybe waiting to be resurfaced as metal barriers no access- the only place to park is on a small road that part broken littered with potholes and massive puddle . One red doggie bin I saw one trail post and a arrow sprayed on a tree . Lots of paths through trees some well trodden and other not so which can lead you into some rather boggy areas * advised wellies or take a change of footwear . few people out with dogs and horse tracks and deer trails and birds of prey over head and plenty of mushrooms warning sign for snakes and ticks - Large grassy area no benches that I saw or bins along the paths or a map so found myself a little lost at times .
Very pretty woods. Great for dog walkers, my dogs loved it there. Trail fairly easy to follow. A bit boggy in some areas. Car park is dreadful, I think there's plans to improve it though.
Lovely walk, dog friendly. Easy walking trails. A couple of lakes. Lovely day out. Nice and peaceful.
Very nice place to walk. A bit confusing once inside the woods, no proper markings showing you which path to take if you're a newbie. Went around in circles trying to find an exit. It would need some proper markings and the parking is in a poor state. Overall great woods.
