Picturesque riverside park featuring walking/cycling trails, football pitches & a skate park.
Given that this is on the outskirts of the city, surrounded by residential areas, it is usually surprisingly quiet and peaceful. Lots of lovely walks and it's popular with dog walkers, fields for sports, wooded areas, ponds, a river and stream. As far as I know there's no toilet facilities or cafe.
Lovely quiet strangers for dog walking
A beautiful large piece of countryside (it stretches for miles, going from one park through to the next) filled with trees, wild flowers, a river and wildlife, nestled in the middle of surburbia. What more could you ask for! So pretty. Perfect for walking, cycling, picnicking, chilling etc. I found the map on my phone very useful!
Very small car park with a couple of bins. Only saw 1 other bin in the park. No toilets, an odd bench and picnic bench. Nice place for a walk and leads onto other parks so you can easily adjust how far you go. Paths are clearly marked on Google Maps. It is possible for dogs to have a swim but pick your spot as some were quite dirty. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife. We came quite close to a heron. Main paths are pram and wheelchair friendly and it is all pretty flat.
Lovely park/ forest. Definitely ideal on a sunny day, dogs can cool down in the river. Can be a short or a long walk depending on individual. Great for dogs and owners!
Natural park, nature areas, lots of paths and pockets of woodland we like to explore and Meadows. Bird life on the lakes. Seen deer a few times. A nice place to chill out and get some fresh air.
