This nature reserve is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and features a unique landscape of dry sand and gravel pits, which are now flooded to create a series of lakes and ponds. The reserve is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including birds, insects, and plants, and offers scenic walking trails and picnic areas. The site's industrial past has also left a legacy of interesting geological features, including exposed sand and gravel faces, and a variety of fossils can be found.
Beautiful, diverse nature reserve. Has to be seen to be believed. There is a small carpark and if this is full there really isn't anywhere safe to park. You could come back another day/time.
Came here briefly whilst geocaching and I'm glad I did. The second coral reef I've visited in Oxfordshire and neither have got me wet. Great spot to spend some moment with nature. Whilst I was there I did hear near constant car noises though, not sure why.
Peaceful beautiful setting. It's full Summer Wild Flowers, marjoram, self heal and others. Heard the familiar Green Woodpecker. Butterflies enjoying the necter. Ideal place to quietly walk with the dog. Ample parking although car park is small. Worth a visit.
Great place to have a short walk with kids. Lots of footpaths which makes you feel getting lost there. We had to walk through some narrow footpaths with high grass/plants at both sides. A bit of advantages, but my daughters did not enjoy that part.
The beautiful, peaceful place. Walking here gives real pleasure.
It's a wonderful little walk and a great chance to see some cool ecology.
