Liked: A lovely well maintained adults only base. Great walks nearby. Pub food was lovely with a great choice of drinks. Toilets remained exceptionally clean throughout my stay. And host was really helpful and allowed me to extend my stay short notice. Would thoroughly recommend using all trails as the area is a gift for walking. Disliked: Not a dislike at all... but do note (at my time of stay) the pub wasn't open on the Monday or Tuesday, so be sure to check opening days before going if that's your reason for staying!
Liked: Nice spacious pitches. Fantastic views. Nice friendly pub with good beer and food. Clean facilities. We had a lovely relaxing stay. Excellent WiFi good enough for the fire stick. Disliked: Quite close to a busy road but set well back and went quiet at night. I still got a good 8 hours sleep.
Liked: Clean facilities. Very good site maintenance. Fabulous views overlooking the Peak District from the campsite. Spacious pitch. Great location for walking and exploring. Pub on the doorstep. Helpful and friendly staff. Disliked: Road noise from A515 and being directly under the flight path to Manchester Airport Sloping pitch.
Liked: The staff were friendly and helpful and kindly lent us an extension lead for our power supply so we could use the EHU. Our lead is short (15m) so wasn't quite up to the job. The pitch was a decent size and so we didn't feel on top of our neighbours. The facilities were decent with nice hot showers and were kept clean. We extended our stay so spent about a week at this site and we were very comfortable for the whole time. Having a pub right on your doorstep is always a good thing too and the Scampi was delicious, so I'd recommend that. Also, a short walk down the trail over the road will take you to another pub (the Royal Oak, I think) which is another lovely spot. The free WiFi was handy too though I think the performance dropped a bit when the site got busier. Disliked: Nothing at all!
Duke of York Pemeroy is a perfect base site. The site is immaculate, hard stand/grass pitches are large and so tidy. Showers and Toilets are modern and cleaned daily. Washing up facilities are perfect and water is piping hot. The Duke of York pub is also fantastic. The restaurant food menu is great. I recommend the Steak and Ale pie! ...and Sunday Roast. The beef is a dream and the portion size amazing.. no wonder you have to pre book! The owners of the site and pub are so good too.. on hand to support ... I am sure we will be coming back and will be recommending the Duke of York ... thank you Bridget

Stayed 2 nights on the campsite. Great location for walking/cycling with access to trails on the doorstep.Greeted by the lovely owner who provided lots of information and leaflets of walks with directions/map from the campsite. Great quiet site with spotless facilities and fantastic views from our pitch. Ate in the pub, lovely food generous portions. Happy campers. We would definitely return and recommend to others. A well needed couple of days away.
