Dun Canna is a 12th-century castle situated on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. This ruined fortress stands atop a rocky outcrop, its crumbling walls and towers a testament to the region's rich history. The castle's strategic location offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, with the Cuillin Hills rising in the distance.
The walk is about an hour and relatively flat, with a few rocks to climb over and puddles to hurdle..at the end, the beaches and rocks to chill out on at the best location. So secluded and feels like it's just you there.
An easy walk down to the beach allowing for the wet & mud underfoot. Suitably attired and there's no issue. Great spot once you arrive with views of the Summer Isles. Hard to believe people lived there knowing how harsh the climate can be in this area!
Lovely walk. Took us about an hour to walk in and hour to walk back out but I did stop to take lots of photos. Well worth it!
Lovely walk to the coast, wild and full of promise with the sea ahead. The walk is a low level mountain walk.
Tough hike to get to the viewing point due to rainy circumstances. A lot of "climbing and kloutering."
Unfortunately the car route to get to this viewpoint is on a private road, so you may or may not be asked to leave by the locals.
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
