Conservation area & wildfowl reserve on a shingle spit with an accessible trail & military remains.
So peaceful and relaxing. We called and it was just us and a handful of fishermen with their rods. No sand, no toilets, nothing just you and nature. We took some chairs and sat reading and listening to the waves crash onto the pebbles and roll them round. So lovely. I fully recommend this book too - I didn't want it to end!
Wild, Nature, Tranquil of the only desert in England made up of shingles. Worth a visit and enjoy the scenary on the way. Kent is still amazing greeny area. Find a coach tour or explore yourself with car!!
The British shingle desert.. Land of black sheds and sky A herd of lighthouse sail bye We're wind doth blow the cobwebs away. And as bright and bleak as the day.
There isn't a whole lot to do here, its a barren location, how ever there are some cool sights like the light houses and the nature reserve for spotting animals. If you travel down by train there is a lovely pub (The Britannia) 5 minute walk away which serves amazing food. A lovely day out for anyone and the family
Being here honestly feels post apocalyptic, it's a truly incredible place to go especially during the summer. The sunset was beautiful to witness. Coming here is quite easy by car, plenty of parking. And you can also get on the mini steam trains here. I'd highly recommend!
