An arch-shaped limestone rock formation draws crowds to this strip of coastline with striking views.
Durdle Door Beach is absolutely breathtaking! The iconic limestone arch is a must-see, and the views along the Jurassic Coast are stunning. The water is crystal clear, though a bit cold, and the pebble beach adds a unique touch. The hike down to the beach is steep, but the effort is worth it for the incredible scenery. It can get crowded, especially during the summer, so arriving early is a good idea. Also, the facilities are limited, so make sure to bring your own supplies. Parking is available but fills up fast. Overall, it's a fantastic spot for nature lovers and photographers!
This is a breathtaking natural landmark on England's Jurassic Coast, famous for its unique limestone arch and stunning coastal views. The beach below is a mix of pebbles and sand, offering a great spot for sunbathing, swimming, and exploring the shoreline. The walk down to Durdle Door can be steep and challenging, but the scenic vistas along the way are well worth the effort. The area is popular, so it can get busy, especially in the summer, but it's a must-visit for anyone wanting to experience one of the UK's most iconic coastal formations. Whether you're a photographer, nature lover, or just looking for a beautiful place to relax, Durdle Door offers a memorable experience.
You have a choice of parking at the top of the cliffs or onto the beautiful area of Lulworth Cove and village then walk the clifftops to Durdle Door, need a minimum of the 4hrs parking to enjoy without rushing. Superb view of the Jurassic coastline the path is well constructed and a pleasure to explore the area and beach with its nooks and caves.
It's really very interesting to visit this place in the morning at about 8 am because of parking space and less crowded. There is enough place for food and drinks. Toilets are there. Parking for 4 hours is 10 pounds and one day, 20 pounds. Actually, it's recommended for all ages. Get chilled for one day would be my recommendation. It is very easy to drive there.
It was a wonderful experience and awesome time spent on a beautiful Saturday weekend on this beach. There's a good facility for paid car parking on the top of the cliff. With free access to clean toilets and washrooms available in the car parking area for both male's & females. One has to walk down the steps for almost 20 mins to go to the shore, there is also a good railing for the steps on one side. BBQ is not allowed on the beach. POINT TO NOTE: One has to take his own garbage along with him after his picnic. The beach has a beautiful scenic beauty to enjoy, relax and have fun and create memories for a lifetime.
Excellent place to visit and spend your holiday on the beach. Long 25 minutes walk from the bus stop. The return journey from the beach is harder. Cause you have to walk uphill and it's difficult for the elderly and children. This million years old limestone door is a worthwatch.
