A flight of five locks on the Bridgewater Canal in Cheshire, where the canal rises by 15 metres over a distance of 70 metres, with a picturesque setting surrounded by woodland and a nearby nature reserve.
Used the path to cycle through this gorgeous nature landscape...stunning
We enjoyed a lovely walk here today.... Looking forward to warmer days so we can stop off and have a picnic, The Leigh Arms and Riverside are close by for a drink
A beautiful area for a nice walk. The canal ways are so peaceful and the views from the track are lovely. At the locks there is a little seating area which is good place to stop for a rest. The lock area also connects several different walking /cycling routes so your spot fit choice in terms of which way to go. A short wall away is the Leigh Arms which is a good pub serving great for and drink. Well worth a visit
Scenic view. A extremely relaxing and seren area to visit for the day or a get away/break . Lots of beautiful wildlife also. I stayed at the Dutton locks in the Shepards hut. I found this property via Airbnb, which is set back from one of the 4 lovely cottages on the private island. I would highly recommend this island/area. It is a beautiful day/short break for people of all ages & tastes.
Nice for a peaceful picnic but not today as it's really wet. Despite the rain I had an historic steam tug called Kerne through. Search for it online as it has a fascinating history.
Amazing place, remind to parking the car opposite of the road entrance.
