A Railway Adventure in Eastbourne. Travel behind the famous one-eighth scale miniature locomotives as they meander for nearly a mile around the beautiful country park. Enjoy a pleasant stroll around the five-acre lake where nature and wildlife may be seen in their natural habitats. Relax in the prize-winning tea gardens with a beverage, lunch or Cream Tea from the railway style cafe. Crazy golf, Picnic areas, model railways and the Railway Gift Shop. Also for the children there's adventure playgrounds to help "let off steam".
Brilliant day out perfect for families especially those with small children. The miniature steam railway is amazing and a lovely ride around the whole park. Just be careful if you have a young one in front as the train horn and smoke can be hard for little ones so you might want to sit further back. Plenty of playgrounds, crazy golf, maze, lake and seating dotted around for ease. Nice snack shops and cafe along with gift shop that sells trains, toys and memorabilia. Really easy, booking in advance saves 50p a ticket. Highly recommend!
A lovely and beautiful place in Eastbourne. Features a miniature railway which travels around the outskirts past a lovely fishing lake and wooded area. The little locos are really great and there are quite a few of them. The day I visited there were no mini steam engines in service , there was a replica of an old BR diesel loco which did a great job pulling the little sit over carriages along. The entrance price includes one train trip but additional tickets can be purchased for PS1.50. The fishing lake is very tranquil and quite beautiful. It's possible to walk all the way around it and if you are lucky you'll see plenty of birds, there is even a bird watching hut where I saw a woodpecker amongst others. There is a woodland walk and a garden area with fountains and also a small maze. For kids there are various picnic areas and play parks and there is also a fun mini golf course which again is included in the entry price. Food, drinks, ice creams are all available. I had a tasty milkshake which was refreshing on a warm day. All in all a nice visit, it's primarily for younger kids but I like trains of any kind so I liked that part very much but it was also really nice to walk around the lake and enjoy the tranquility. Parking is free.
We visited here during the Easter holidays for the first time and we had a wonderful time here with our two your children. You get on ride on the stream train as part of your entrance fee and PS1.50 pp after that. It has a very big playground to play in and a 9 hole crazy golf. You can walk around the lake with a little playground at the far side. I great place to spend the day or half a day. I thought it was on the little expensive side for whats here, but nevertheless a fun place to come.
Great place to go with children, lots to do. Staff running the trains were very friendly, good value to money.
I used to visit as a child very regularly 25 years ago, and now I have my own child I have been excited to return for a while. I finally visited yesterday, and wow, what a place it still is! The site itself is so well maintained - clean, tidy, and beautiful. I didn't appreciate the landscaping and greenery as a child! On the train side, the ride is still a delight and the whole experience as a parent was excellent. Can't wait to be back regularly! We're very lucky to have something like this in Eastbourne.
A great time to be had with grandchildren. The train rides are the main attraction but there are excellent play areas and a good walk around the whole lake (with another playparks half way round.) There is a mini golf course and cafes. A nice family run attraction.
