Really rating the field next to the picnic area. Some quite rare history and archaeology. A 17th century earthwork alongside 20th century WW2 spigot mortar mounting and an Allan Williams turret. Plenty of wildlife by the river too.
Just before the bridge there's a small pull off to a rather rough carpark, behind the carpark is a small grassy area with three older picnic benches. The views over the field and river ouze are pleasant and there's a number of wild birds to see including swans various ducks and herons.
