Tucked away on a housing estate in Earls Colne, this museum is a hidden little gem! Housed within a lovely old water tower, which served the village's foundry site from 1855 until 1988, the museum offers two floors of local historical artefacts.
Beyond rude, discriminated against by disrespectful staff, ageist, i travelled 1.5 hours to see this historical village and was turned away even though I'm 20 years old. She didn't even know who the Hunt family were... ignored my questions and seemed uninterested.
Very interesting local history museum, well laid out interesting displays; good use made of fairly small premises. Very helpful staff. Well worth a visit to discover more about this lovely little (once very rural) corner of Essex.
Good place to visit. We learned lits about local history. Children enjoyed the treasure hunt .
Very good
