A series of four man-made lakes in Norfolk, England, offering scenic views, walking trails, and opportunities for fishing, birdwatching, and relaxation amidst a peaceful countryside setting.
East Bilney lakes are a small collection of dedicated fishing lakes, that really cater to walkers and nature lovers. The parking and entry is free from a rambling perspective. The lakes range from large ponds to small lakes, most of which are very heavy with submerged water weeds. The paths around the lakes are easy to navigate and short in distance. This isn't an all day adventure, more a few hours of slow paced walking if you want to take photos or try and spot wildlife. Dogs must be on a lead at all times, and continuous barking is politely asked to be delt with as first and foremost this is a fishing complex, with paying customers who need peace and quiet. The small restaurant and coffee house is manned by very friendly staff. We had the all day breakfast and it was delicious. Prices are reasonable. They said they are open every day, but generally wind down hot food around 2pm. A nice few hours out, including the time eating.
Found in Google. Fantastic place. Very warm and friendly welcome, great food. Fantastic spot to come and relax. Well worth a visit
I visited East Bilney Lakes as part of a Let's Get Fishing campaign run in conjunction with the Angling Trust. It was an excellent opportunity for children to learn about fishing and gain a little experience. The lakes themselves looked very well cared for with good quality platforms for fishing from. The ones nearest to the carpark were specifically for those with disabilities. At one point I saw a decent sized fish jump out of the water so fish are definitely in there! There is a cafe on site with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It looked quite decent and from what I could see the food looked nice and decent portions with friendly waiting staff, however, by the time we finished our course it was closed so we couldn't experience it first hand. Parking on site is on a large, stone covered area with plenty of parking for a good number of cars. I didn't notice specific disabled parking but everything was on the level. I also didn't notice any electric charging points. All in all it looked like a lovely place and I would be happy to return.
The breakfast was really nice. The staff were really friendly. Will be back again. Gluten free friendly and vegetarian friendly.
Great place In the middle of woods with 3 fishponds, a cafe. Food was good and the loaded chips were cooked really well. Nice and crispy.
Stopped off here as had seen the sign. What a beautiful place. Fishing lakes, bed and breakfast and a cafe open 7 days a week. Fantastic burger and chips. Lovely people too who have only been there for 5 months.
Wheelchair-accessible car park
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
