This reserve covers 2,300 hectares of rugged moorland, woodland, and wetlands in Devon, featuring a diverse range of flora and fauna. The landscape is dotted with granite tors, valleys, and rivers, including the River Dart, which flows through the reserve. Visitors can explore the area's unique geology, spot wildlife such as red deer, otters, and birds of prey, and enjoy scenic walks and picnics amidst the picturesque scenery.
Beautiful area with time spent at Becka Falls, great place to explore highly recommended first class.
Stopped to walk the dog and was a great find. Main drawback is the provided walk around the woods is poorly described and not marked. The place is full of Tiktok markers that are not referenced? I'll give the benefit of doubt and hope this is in the process of change
There's a small car park here (PS3 for all day) and a public toilet. Maps available or good phone signal to just use GPS. Wonderful ancient woodland and we had a great family walk spotting so many different types of fungi (The Seek app is brilliant for spotting and naming). Lots of gravel tracks, most of which would be a bit rough and too steep for a child's pushchair or wheelchair. Well worth a visit if you prefer to be away from the crowds and get out in the fresh air.
Beautiful scenery! Lovely walk with the dog! A few steep hills, so make sure you are able to manage it!
