A picturesque lock on the River Medway, surrounded by lush greenery and tranquil countryside, offering a serene atmosphere and opportunities for boating, fishing, and walking along the riverbank.
Very pretty spot with medieval Bridge spanning the river Medway. Several wooden pontoons lead down to the waterside. Traffic a bit scary for cyclists and walkers arriving by train. But foot path is sign posted, if a bit small.
stop here once or twice a week whilst Kayaking up the Medway. Usually fairly quiet during the week apart from the odd dog walker or runner.
Lovely walk from Maidstone and back along the river
Allington to East Farleigh lock in a canoe on my own, with your wife or bro makes for a wonderful day out. Always beautiful weather! You might even sea a seal languishing on the shore.
Beautiful peaceful area, with kingfisher daring about the gently flowing river. Ideal place to unwind & relax.
Beautiful place to visit. We walk there from Barming, along the river and to the lock and then often walk back and sometimes we walk further on towards Maidstone town centre. The walk is very peaceful, and the scenery is lovely. It's never been really busy while I've walked along there but there are always people walking, jogging or walking their dogs. You often see fishermen along the route too. This particular time we went there as you can see by the photos the water was very choppy and fast flowing.
