Liked: The location was good, the sheltered site was quiet and flat. The team were helpful and seemed to have though about grouping similar groups together to keep everyone happy. The farm shop and cafe were a great addition and were really reasonably priced. The toilets were clean and well stocked with paper. Disliked: The kitchen block is in desperate need of a refurb, the roof leaks and the floor is rotting, but it was functional and plenty of hot water for washing up. The showers need a little work, they were clean but ineffective for actually getting a good wash due to showerhead issues.
Liked: The friendly owner, the peaceful surroundings and the local area. The site was well kept and a lovely place to sit out of an evening and watch the bats and the stars. Disliked: Whilst the toilets were clean and functional, the gents shower tray was cracked and the toilet door had a window in it, giving people in the tea rooms opposite a view in as you use the urinals. The ladies shower had a similar window in the shower. Put some frosted glass in, or a blind. The washing up facilities could really do with an update. There's only one sink, no lights and the roof leaks.
Liked: Good value for money and plenty of space. Facilities were basic, but clean. Lots of beautiful countryside and could go walking without having to drive. Disliked: Website doesn't accurately reflect their rules. They state no dogs and no large groups so I booked with the expectation that it would be a very quiet place to stay. But there was a large group near us and several dogs, so not as quiet as expected.
Liked: Beautiful, peaceful site, friendly owners, excellent location for exploring Dorset. Disliked: Shower/toilet block and kitchen facilities could do with an update.
Liked: Small and friendly working farm in the countryside away from 'holiday park' culture. Stayed in the tent field in a campervan with awning and found a level spot. Quiet, so plenty of choice where to park up. Toilets were clean with plenty of toilet roll, soap and hot water. Showers were electric so no issue with running out of water, having to keep pressing a button or temperature. Dish wash... plenty of hot water, plus a kettle and fridge freezer in the building. Shop/cafe on site and fresh farm eggs for sale. Disliked: Showers were usable but both could use a bit of maintenance. Male shower had shower tray issues, female shower had shower head issues. Dish wash... getting in and out of the building could be difficult for some, and no working light, so you need a torch if washing up after dusk.
Liked: Lovely setting, camping fields well kept and the lady owner (sorry I forgot to ask her name) was just wonderful. Stayed open late as we were later arriving and even made us a fantastic bacon sandwich for breakfast on her day off Disliked: Whilst clean and functional, the shower could do with the tray replacing
