We are a completely volunteer run miniature railway situated inside Blue Diamonds Van Hage garden centre, Great Amwell. We open every weekend, bank holidays and Tuesdays and Thursdays during the school holidays. PS1.50 per person with under 24 month old traveling free. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an older fare paying passenger. We donate some of our proceeds to local charities to help the local community. Please visit our website for more information about us.
Great little railway inside Van Hage Garden Centre. Run by volunteers and funded by admission fee of PS1.50 per ride per passenger. Kids love it, although it only lasts about 10 mins.
Excellent little railway run by volunteers and a short 10 min run round only costs PS1.50 ! Great for young and old. Inside the Van Hage Garden Centre.
On a trip back home we decided to make a detour... the East Herts Miniature Railway is located in the rather large Van Hage Garden Centre. It takes a bit of navigating to get through the garden centre out to where the railway is! There is a little ticket office where you can buy tickets (card thankfully accepted!) The railway itself has been set up really nicely, a trip through a tunnel and a ride over a pond included! The volunteers were great and friendly with the kids, and the steam train did a great job getting us round the track! It was raining on our visit so we got a little wet, but the station area where you get on etc. was nice and dry. A really great miniature railway, and for the kids (and me!) it made the visit to a garden centre worthwhile!
We went there for the very first time today as we near to the play group. We had amazing time riding the . Would highly recommended and we will for sure revisit again!
We attended the winter lights and also the driver experience. Children and adults all really enjoyed it. The boys aged 8 and 10 also loved being able to drive the train, under the guidance of someone instructing them. I would highly recommend the winter lights if you can get along, it really is lovely!
My boys had an amazing driver experience at Christmas time this year. The lights were really magical! The team were so friendly and welcoming. I'm sure they will remember this for years to come thank you! We will be back!
