The city's largest park, including picnic areas, boats, a flume and an animal education centre.
The most enjoyable place for a day out. This park has plenty of spaces to relax, walk, play, exercise and explore. I'd like to start by mentioning that there are two parking places, so if you go all the way forward on the first one, you can still come in the park and find a second parking. Come early on a sunny day as you will find parking gets pretty full. We went to the playground and then had some rides on the carousel, it was lovely. There is a feeder to buy food for the ducks and you can also spend some time there while enjoying an ice cream
Lovely day out! Great walks and a fantastic park for all ages, it was a little run down the day we visited with a few bits blocked off but there was still enough for my girls to play on. The flume was a great little find, and a good price. The splash pad was great for my water babies! The toilets/changing rooms were clean and manned so they stayed clean! When we arrived there were a team of people walking the splash pad making sure there were no sharp bits etc fantastic service thankyou! The pavilion was very busy we didn't stay for food but we did use the toilets, they were clean but one of the toilets didn't have a lock and there was a larger gap in the door where the lock should be. We visited the children's library, it was only small but lovely! My girls really enjoyed being able to read and have a rest from the natur walks
What a wonderful place. I must admit, it was a bit daunting travelling to it but once you get inside, it's like a different world, absolutely amazing so many different things to see and do, great for the kids and for families on tight budgets. you must go and see
A great park - lots of water & grass, much wildlife (including dozens if not hundreds of geese, mainly Greylag with some Canada and a few white ones, too). Some squirrels are tame enough to take food from your hands. When the sun's out, it's even better. Love East Park
I visited the Big Marlekey's Festival 2024 held at East Park. It was fun and great. Well spacious and had loads of activities to do. Serene and conducive environment.
This is an extra special park. It's soo big, has quite a numerous sections to engage one, historic and fun filled. I came here around winter now, can only imagine what it would look like in summer. From the water parts to the animals to the park activities, I can only imagine why it took me so long to find this place. I took a walk to clear my head, but rather than just getting my head cleared off, I was able to make mental notes of things to take from this place. I so love it. It has three sections that allows dog in a part, but on leash, another with dogs free, and the third with dogs restricted. There are some parts you pay a token to to enjoy access to the place but it's overall worth it.
