Aug 23 I am a real enthusiast for this park. It's big enough that a circular walk around the edge is a gentle half hour. There is an avenue of trees, many of them horse chestnuts. There are some triangular plant beds that have non standard plants in. There is a real meadow with minute hay stacks showing conservation in action. There is a fairly large children's play area surrounded by a fence. Although I'm not a dog person, this is clearly a great place for dog walking. I always leave visits here more relaxed than I arrived.
Lovely place to walk, relax, and enjoy your surroundings.
Lovely park, free parking, good signage to find it, good toilets too. Some of the paths are pushchair friendly too so you can go from the car park, round the play area and round the flower beds easily. Some lovely bits to see the river safely too and lots of picnic benches. The play area was a bit busy when we went because the one for the older kids was closed (& it was the bank holiday), but a really nice play area.
Nice play area with snack kiosk and toilets close by, nice walk through wooded area along the river and can play poo sticks on the bridge. Always looks well maintained.
Even though it wasn't the best weather it was still lovely walking about and exploring and enjoying the views. I've been in the summers and its a terrific cheap day out for families, lots of paths and wooded areas to explore. Make it fun with the kiddies by turning over logs and looking for bugs . Wonderful park with something for all ages children and grow ups as you can see grandad enjoyed himself. Also finishing off by visiting the shop for a cuppa or a ice lolly. Ample parking which is really close and paths for wheelchairs.
Really nice park with lots of trails, a playground, toilets, and free parking. Easy to find. Great spot for birding if you're patient.
