Eastgate farm Campsite, please book on the website. All bookings must be pre booked on our website or through pitch up
Liked: Very peaceful even the sheep in adjacent field were quiet. Silent site after 9.30. Excellent value. Fresh water and washing up facilities. No charge for shower. Disliked: Only 1 loo and shower in same cubicle so had to wait sometimes and site was only half full. Didn't find chemical waste disposal.
Liked: Easy to find location, adequate spaces for trailer and 4x4, with still room for awning etc. Grass cut in pitches, nice view of fields and sheep! Was asked by the owner if all OK, which it certainly was. This is working Farm, with minimal services as identified in the blurb, found it absolutely perfect for me as a stop over for one night. Hope to travel back for a couple of nights to visit Duxford and the national Trust with the wife. Disliked: Nothing of note.
Liked: A peaceful, rural spot well placed for folks visiting Cambridge and nearby. Friendly staff, facilities very clean and would definitely recommend and use again if in the area. Disliked: Nothing; it is a small site, with limited facilities but that is clear when you book, and for me is an asset...would rather stay in a quiet location like this than a larger, busy location.
Liked: I chose this site after looking at many others and loved that it was a working farm. The site didn't disappoint. I was greeted by the owner and she was very friendly and showed me round. The site is surrounded by fields and is really peaceful with the lovely sounds of sheep and pigs that are on the farm. The sheep walk around feely, I was hoping for a camping companion from one of them but they were too busy munching of on the grass, haha. The piggies were in the barn so I spent some time going over to see them because they are soooo cute, had some good old chats with them and even saw them get excited when the farmer came to feed them. Jokes aside, the farm isn't noisy like you would think one would be and if you enjoy seeing animals walking around then this is the perfect site. As the owners state in the information for the site, the amenities are basic but they have a toilet and shower with hot water, the site is clean and tidy and there is a sink for washing up, all that is needed for a nice few days away. There is no electricity points so be sure to bring a generator, power pack etc. I stayed on this site for 3 days for work, I'm a medic and had some events near to the site and I was more than comfortable with what was available. If your looking for the ritz of a camp site then this wont be for you but otherwise its a lovely site and I will most definitely be returning when I'm over that way again. Disliked: Nothing
Liked: Large pitches, peaceful and well maintained. Although basic site on a farm, the toilet and shower very clean and modern. Definitely use again :) No wifi, but good 4g/5g
Liked: Good size pitch. Lovely owners. Not near a main road. Disliked: Only one toilet/shower cubical which meant that there was quite often a bit of dancing around and could take a while to get going in the morning or settle in the evening
