A scenic waterfront area in Wirral, Merseyside, featuring a 1-mile-long pedestrian walkway along the River Dee estuary, offering stunning views of the Welsh hills and the Liverpool Bay, with amenities like cafes, restaurants, and shops, as well as a children's play area and a skate park.
I came on a bike ride to Eastham Promenade and it really is a magical place. There are spectacular views of the Mersey that you can't find anywhere else. You can sit and watch the ships such as the dredger that I saw. The promenade is on the National Cycle Route so is easily accessible from Hilton Station and Birkenhead. There are shops and pubs with amenities along the way.
We came here for a little sunday stroll and really enjoyed exploring the area. I had never been before and loved the woodland walk, and the view along the promenade. We also seen the pub and the tea shop but unfortunately didn't get chance to visit either but will definitely be popping in next time.
If you go early it's a place of quiet and tranquillity. You can catch the sunrise as it breaks the horizon lighting up the sky with it's golden glow. Watch the Liverpool skyline as the lights of the city dim and the sun's rays strike the towers at the Pierhead. All that can be heard is the cries of the seabirds and the soft lap of the waves at low tide. A change of scene can be quickly got by walking into Eastham Country Park, where you can explore the woods and open spaces. A very relaxing day can be had. I would recommend a visit.
