This museum showcases the industrial heritage of Ebbw Vale, a former steelworking town in Wales. Located in the former Ebbw Vale Steelworks site, the museum features exhibits on the history of steel production, coal mining, and the social history of the town. The museum's collection includes machinery, tools, and artifacts from the steelworks, as well as interactive displays and reconstructions of workers' homes and a 1940s-style street. Visitors can explore the site's remaining industrial buildings, including the iconic blast furnace, and learn about the lives of the people who worked and lived in Ebbw Vale.
Had a visit today & really enjoyed the tour absolutely fascinating please if you visit Ebbw Vale this is a must visit.. 10/10
Map show wrong direction but we found the museum. I thought whole building belongs the museum and get excited. When I get into building I saw only 3 rooms belong the museum. It is too small. If lovely and polite officer didn't be our guide we couldn't k ow anything. I hope this museum gets more visitors and asks more things to get the museum bigger. Thanks for the officer to be our guide.
As of November 2021, it is closed (despite what Google and their own website says) Staff in the council office round the far side tell me that only the archive is open, and that by prior appointment.
Well worth a visit. Lots of photographs of the old steel works
Great little museum with a fascinating history of industry in the town. But it is right next the railway station and not where Google maps says.
Very helpful friendly staff. Helped me with some local family history.
