Remains of a 9th-century cross thought to be erected in honor of Eliseg, a king of Powys.
Wonderful find on the roadside outside of Llangollen. The sign at the nearby abbey mentioned the pillar, so I went up to see it. 1000-year-old monument on a 4000-year-old hill. Both the hill and the monument are fenced off, so you can't climb up and get a closer look. Definitely worth the stop.
