This former limestone quarry turned nature reserve features a unique blend of industrial heritage and natural beauty. The quarry's rugged landscape has been reclaimed by nature, with wildflowers, grasses, and shrubs thriving in the exposed rock faces. A network of walking trails and scenic viewpoints allows visitors to explore the reserve, taking in the dramatic vistas and spotting local wildlife such as peregrine falcons, badgers, and foxes. The reserve's industrial past is still evident in the abandoned quarry buildings and machinery, adding an intriguing layer of history to the site.
Lovely peaceful walk round nature reserve. Volunteers have done great job in short time. Have an app for identifying bird songs and 15 different birds recorded. Heard but some not seen! Couple of simple benches on circuit would be good to sit and listen to birds.
It's a quarries with a large pond and some wild fowl.
