Charming Emmetts Garden is an Edwardian estate that was owned by Frederic Lubbock, becoming both a plantsman's passion and a much-loved family home. The garden was laid out in the late 19th century, and was influenced by William Robinson. It contains many exotic and rare trees and shrubs from across the world. Standing on one of the highest spots in Kent, Emmetts Garden offers panoramic views over the unspoilt Weald as well as some great walking opportunities. When you visit, you can explore the rose and rock gardens, take in the views and enjoy shows of spring flowers and shrubs, followed by vibrant autumn colours.
I was pleasantly surprised - not the type of place I'd normally look to spend a day out but pleased I did. The staff were fantastic, the gardens well maintained and detailed, lots to do for dog walkers and families with kids - pizza vans/ice creams etc or bring your own picnic. I would most certainly recommend it to you and I'll be scouting for the next National Trust park to go to.
Beautiful and well-maintained gardens. Excellent job by the National Trust as always. There's always something new to enjoy as the garden changes with each season. There's also a grassy picnic and games area and there are balls and things to borrow for free if you have small children with excess energy. The stables tearoom serves good hearty food. We did the 3 hour circular walk from Emmetts Garden to Chartwell and back. Routes were well-signposted and fun to do.
Beautiful shrubs and flowers, great woodland walks with incredible views. The bluebells are out in late spring and well worth a look. Cafe is a must visit after a walk. Fantastic National Trust visit.

Lovely little garden! Doesn't take long to walk around it, we even did the longer walk. Took us about 1 hour to finish the whole thing. Next time we might extend the walk further out.
