A lovely path that is protected by the councils by-law to ensure the people of Lowerhouse have an access walking route to and from to and from Padiham. I lived all my childhood across from the start of the path on Victoria road and Janet ( my childhood bestie) who lived at the other side of Victoria road we named it the black path because it was black tarmac for the first bit next to Janet's house. We had our bonfire there every year and it was idyllic every summer for playing and making dens as it used to be the council tip and people used to carry on using it as a dump for allsorts: it's a bit over grown on the path when I went last year and a lot of where we used to play is now fenced off and also th re are pens what locals have started to grow stuff. I couldn't get to the tree that was our tree hous or the brook we used to paddle in. I loved that place full of wild flowers and Janet and I had idyllic childhoods playing around that path. We claimed it as our playground and we often went to the top lodge when ours mums said we couldn't
A magical place for me full of the best memories of my wonderful childhood with my best friend Janet (Wightman) and our Dolly Darlings! xx
Best end of a path ever!
