This public house with its acre and half garden, and children's play area welcome every one from all walks of life. This pub has a stunning Victorian decorative theme, with beautiful laid dining tables and silver ware. Log burning stove. There is a converted barn where every Sunday is a carvery, but you can also book the barn out for private meetings, functions and celebrations. They also have en-suite bed and breakfast accommodation
What an absolutely beautiful nice quiet tradition style pub with rooms. The service is second to none by Sheila and Pam. The rooms are lovely, clean and very comfortable. It's set in a beautiful little which is lovely and quiet,I had a fantastic few quiet days while staying here,I would definitely recommend to anyone to come here even if you're only passing just for a drink and some food. I'll definitely be back here without a doubt.
It's Friday. So it must be Fish n Chips. I love my Fish n Chips so am a bit of an expert on fish and batter. I was told Sheila's was the best in South Oxfordshire. They were not wrong. Beautifully cooked and well presented. It was delicious. I thoroughly recommend Sheila's Fish n Chips. I'll be back...
I stayed in a lovely room with a comfortable four poster bed. The pub has a lovely nostalgic vibe with its traditional style. |The landlady was very friendly and accommodating with regards to my dietary requirements, and I enjoyed a nice draught ale.|All in all a very pleasant stay, would definitely recommend!|With Many Thanks|Sonja
This was a great find - excellent value in an area where accommodation tends to be over-priced. There was a very nice welcome, without the briskness and bureaucracy so prevalent elsewhere. The host is a great character who does things in her own way - we need more people like this in the hospitality trade.||The bar and restaurant area are lovely and cosy, with an open fire and the smell of woodsmoke. This is clearly a home-from-home for a loyal band of customers; there's a friendly atmosphere, with everyone expected to exchange pleasantries. It was convenient to eat evening meal and breakfast in the bar area.||The bedroom was not necessarily the smartest, but everything worked well, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The shower took a while to work out (there was a pull-chord outside the en-suite) but had the benefit of not spraying out cold water prior to stepping under it. The electric wiring in the bedroom was likewise idiosyncratic, but I have no reason to think it was unsafe.||There were lovely olde-world touches around the place - handsome sash windows and genuine cast-iron lamp-posts relocated from Oxford. The large garden to the rear was a haven for wildlife, and as dusk fell some attractive coloured lights came on.||Definitely a memorable stay, and one to bear in mind for the future.
A lovely pub with character, food was delicious, my wife had the Home-made chicken and vegetable pie while i had the beef with mushroom and stilton sauce. Sheila was very friendly and accommodating. My wife and i will be visiting again when we are in the area.
Travelling back to Manchester, we decided to stop for food. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. Gammon, egg & chips were certainly a winner for me. Fast service with a great smile. Would definitely visit again if we travel past!
