Loved it really. Being a nature loving person i really enjoyed. Must wear a comfortable walking shoes. Walking inside is not smooth. Ups and down path will make you panting . But will enjoy at the same time. Carry your own food. Parking is paid.
I loved places like Epping. We were able to totally disconnect, walk in peace along clearly signaled paths and enjoy a type of silence which is totally new living in London. All the people I ran into were families walking their dogs and most of them were greeting us as we crossed paths. An excellent free alternative to disconnect while in London
Epping Forest is a true gem just outside of London! This ancient woodland offers a peaceful escape from the bustling city life, with its beautiful trees, wildlife, and walking trails. The forest is perfect for a leisurely stroll, a family picnic, or even a bike ride. Great place to walk your dogs. Although be careful of bikes flying down some tracks. Other than that, it's a great place to let your hair down a be a big kid yourself and climb some of the fallen trees, build little tree huts, and generally have good old-fashioned fun.
Always lovely to have a day in the woods. Its been my first time in epping forest and I loved it. Many different routes you can take. Hiking shoes recommended for muddy areas or if you go off trail, if you stay on the path trainers are fine too. Ghis forest is still full of wildlife and very peaceful, not overcrowded like other parks etc.. I recommend bringing your own picnic :) we walked around 25KM and have not even seen half of it. So we will definitely come back for more.
A magical place right on harlows doorstep,everyone local to this forest should take the time to visit it,,there are so many different areas to park if going by car,there is lots of fantastic places to eat and drink in the near by towns that surround it..The forest has such amazing history, its well worth doing some Google research on its history before you go,I recently walked an 8 mile trek through the High beech area,that is a very popular area of the forest.to sum up Epping Forest I would say a woodland of epic grandure.
