Essex Fire Museum is steeped in social history, and holds a unique collection fire appliances, uniforms, documents, photographs and artefacts which takes the visitor through history right up to the modern day.
Very nice museum, is small but has a lot of items inside, we have been very lucky and get the gide, what tell us a lot of cool stories, also explain about the stuff inside. This place is really worth visiting. Don't forget to book your visit via email.
Incredible experience for old and young alike. Murray and Chloe gave us a very informative tour for about an hour. They are so knowledgeable and passionate. Also made sure the young children enjoyed the day too. Highly recommended.
It's extremely fun at Essex Fire Station today. The staffs are lovely, kind and there to protect safety. So much interesting antique collections to see. Free parking available at the front of the station (extras on grass). We pre-booking is needed via email prior to open day. Open day dates can be checked and found online.
Beautiful place to visit. Walkable distance from the train station. Very friendly staff. It's free to visit. Please make sure of the days that are open to the public before visiting.
Went to the family open day with our small children. We had a fantastic time. All the volunteers were great and got to meet some of the Fire fighters as well. As we were leaving two engines came back from a call and they all waved to the kids which they loved. Such a simple thing but they could have easily ignored us. We will be going again for another open day.
Every visit is amazing. My Son loves to look around and have a go on the hose and climb into the firetrucks. The Little scavenger hunts they organize are great too gets you to have a good look around the museum.
