Eureka! isn't like other museums. Eureka! is an extraordinary fun-packed day out for kids aged 0-11. It has six unique zones to discover, each filled with hundreds of interactive exhibits designed to inspire inquisitive minds to find out about themselves and the world around them. Based in Halifax, next to the main railway station, Eureka! is the UK's only national children's museum. Since it opened in 1992, Eureka! has brought smiles to the faces of more than 7m visitors. Eureka! is an educational charity.
Eureka is easily the best day out for children under 8. We love the interactive game wall, the role playing areas and the way there's always free craft. There's a baby section so even the smallest members of your team can have fun. We've been back every year and the children are still so excited. The cafe service was a bit slow but the food selection is good for the target audience.
I was a bit skeptical as I read some reviews about some of the items throughout the museum not being functional. I'm very glad we got to visit, as the museum is very lively, stimulates the inquisitive nature of the children, as well as their imagination. There are different aspects, departing from human senses, to integration into society, science, anatomy, maintaining a healthy diet, etc. Parking costs PS3.60 for 3 hours.
Absolutely fantastic! I would gladly recommend. Honestly the adults enjoy this more than the kids the food in the cafe needs some improvement though. If you get the food spot on, you've got it all. Make sure you book the tickets online.
Great day out. Lovely, helpful staff both at the museum and on the phone. Would highly recommend a visit. Don't forget to swing by the information desk to pick up a card for the cash machine at the Halifax bank! This was by far my sons fave thing to do in there. Can't wait to visit again soon!
It's our second visit as a family - we have a three and five year old. They love it. We typically come for around 2-3 hours but that's not for lack of things to do but more pacing our family life. You could easily spend a whole day here no problem. Although it is initially expensive - it is a year pass and one you will easily reuse if you live within an hour radius.
Really good day out! The workshops were fab, my son is year 6 so just on the cusp of things feeling a little young for him but he still really enjoyed himself. Lots of interactive buttons to mash and things to do, loads more information than you could ever thoroughly absorb but definitely worth a trip if you're thinking of going.
