Ice cream & fish 'n' chips on a seaside promenade beside a long beach known for rock pools.
This is a great breach lots of nice sand, be careful and only swim in between the flags as they have fast running tides and sand banks deep Water in places. It's very good for rock pooling.
Visited Exmouth with a group of friends. It's a leisurely ten minute walk between the coast and the town and there are some lovely gardens between the two. Had a really enjoyable day and will go back there again.
Great beach. Superb natural settings including life guards . Plenty of cafes and amenities. Excellent for families with children.
A nice seaside town with a sandy beach, shops selling fresh fish, restaurants and pubs. There was a Ferris wheel and another Ferris wheel on the island opposite which was a bit strange to see 2 wheels so close to each other. It also has some brilliant boat rides. I did the boat across to Starcross which was smooth and a brilliant experience. There is also a boating marina which has loads of small to medium size boats. A good place to go for the day if you live nearby.
As one of the only sandy beaches in the area, I'm surprised it wasn't more busy on a bank holiday. There's not a lot of beach space but there is a lovely promenade with shops, views and green space. Parking was available with a small short stay and medium sized long stay car park right by the beach. Being situated at the River Ex mouth, it's a calmer, gentle beach with sand banks creating still water pools as the tide goes out, perfect for little ones, or for digging channels. The exposed sand is fairly rock-free so good for playing. Overall I do recommend as a typical day on the beach, fish and chips for lunch and walk the promenade to the town, ice cream in hand.
Easy to get to. Lots to do, shops, restaurants & pubs everywhere. The seafront has had a facelift & looks great. Grew up going there & love it. The docks area is lovely too with cruises, restaurants & more pubs. There's shops there too. Great for a family day out or stay.
