This museum showcases the history and heritage of Eyam, a village in Derbyshire, England, famous for its plague history. The museum is housed in a 17th-century silk mill and features exhibits on the village's history, geology, and industry, including a recreated Victorian street scene and a collection of artifacts from the plague era.
First visit her today. Educational for the children. Both had a quiz to do on the walk round. They offer guided tours but we opted to walk round our selves. PS11 for a family ticket. Wasn't as big as I thought it would be but worth a look with plenty to read. We would visit again. Nice little bit of history to read and see from the surrounding cottages and a couple of pubs and cafe for a bite to eat or a drink. ;p
A great welcome when you arrive, the staff were very informative, and an extremely great entrance fee. We loved the whole place including the interactive side upstairs great for kid's as there's a quiz to do too.
Fascinating little museum telling the tale of the plague hit village and the sacrifices they made to prevent it from spreading. Great displays and interesting facts . Staff very friendly and a large bowl of water outside for your dog while they wait for you.
Very informative museum with a fascinating Geology section too. Some original items in gift shop make it fun too!
Nice little museum with very friendly helpful staff
Excellent museum with great content regarding the bubonic plague that came here in the 17th century. The displays detailing the plague are in chronological order and full of information, displayed on tall boards, they are easy to understand for children and adults alike. Admission was PS4.50( I wasn't aware of any concessions) with the option of a map of Eyam village for PS1,
