Eype's Mouth Car park if a cliff top car park. Steps down to the shingle beach. There are no public loos.
Be warned, the parking signage is unclear. They charge you if you're in the car park in the morning before parking hours begin. We arrived for an early morning flask of coffee on the beach and the machine (and app) wouldn't let us pay as it was before 8am. The sign that was in front of us stated "No overnight parking", however it didn't state that you'd be fined for being there before opening times. The views are beautiful, however fines for parking outside their charging hours should really be removed - there is no-where else to park nearby (at least none that we know).
Secluded and peaceful. A nightmare to get to with the tiny lanes but worth it. Has ANPR cameras so make sure you pay for parking promptly
Great car park for a walk on the beach, or to set off walking over the cliffs. Mostly steps down to the beach. Nice little area where the water runs to the beach for paddling with little ones. Dog friendly all year! PS5 for all day parking, with an honesty box.
Be very carefull now pay and display your time is taken on entry past the camera and the same on leaving not the time on your ticket ours was a 4 hour ticket told us we had till 14.47 we got back to our car at the time and have now received a PENALTY NOTICE AND FINED PS60 as they go buy camera entry and leaving times so if you have stuff and children or not an Olympic sprinter be back at your car 30 minutes before expiry time on ticket if over time YOU WILL BE FINED I am a local and will not be going back until a barrier is put up and you take a ticket on entry and leaving so no discrepancies. Is this what it has come to ruined our fun day on this beach.
Horrendously maintained car park and unreasonable fines. Paid for two hours and left well before the ticket expiry but was find based on when I 'entered' the car park, which they deemed 10 minutes longer than the 2 hours paid. This doesn't take into consideration the 10 minute grace period to actually queue and pay for parking, nor the time to actually get out of the car park. This place is nothing more than a scam.
Sadly the honesty box is gone. The car park has been taken over by euro car parks. Saying the car park is open from 8am to 9pm. People are getting fines. It's summer. Why would people need to leave the beach by 9pm. Perhaps someone can explain. ???!!!!!
