One of the best museums I've ever been to. Even if you have no interest in gas, you'll come out of it fascinated by the topic and wanting to learn more. I'd also give it huge bonus points for not trying to be trendy - no interactive displays, cartoon characters, etc - every single thing is "This is what this thing is called, this is what it did, this is why it was necessary". It also has genuinely knowledgeable volunteers who can answer questions, rather than just reading off a script.
An absolute hidden gem. Unique on being the the last Town Gas Works left. Amazing place to visit to see how gas was manufactured before North Sea gas. Staff helpful & knowledgeable.
Closed for the year 2021. Should reopen again in May 22.
