This 19th-century pier stretches 1.5 miles into the North Sea, offering stunning views of the coastline and surrounding waters. Visitors can enjoy amusement arcades, food stalls, and a variety of shops along the pier's length. The pier is also home to a historic ferry terminal, which once connected Felixstowe to the Netherlands. Today, the pier is a popular spot for fishing, walking, and taking in the sights and sounds of the bustling seaside town.
Felixstowe Pier is a fond childhood memory. I was back there last week and its feels like it hasn't changed much, but of course it has. The pier used to be fully walkable. Now it is barricaded just behind the amusement arcades. The original structure (built 1905, the same year as the Felix Hotel (now Harvest House)) was much longer than it is currently but has been shortened over the years. It used to be a good walk, not sure if it is ever planned to be reopened and seems to be a semi-derelict landing strip for seagulls. The amusement arcade had a major refurbishment around 2017, the outside looks really good and there's some good ice-cream and fish and chips available. The arcade inside is clean, got some decent amusements and plenty of 2p penny-drop machines if you're the gambling type. Even on the weekend there were a few parking spots available right outside the pier. Parking was only PS1.50 for a couple of hours (and then free from 6pm) with the machines only taking cash. Good couple of hours spent reliving my youth.
It's been a while since I was in Felixstowe. I was blown away with the changes . The first thing was that it was beautiful and clean . The sun was shining, and it all looked glorious . We had some lunch on the pier. It was expensive, but it was well worth it. Wonderful views . Sun was out. We just relaxed and enjoyed the time !! an absolutely amazing day . We will be back soon .
Lovely on a warm sunny day. Not so much when it's windy and cold. Has a nice cafe on the pier and great fish and chips the other side where you enter. The arcades are brilliant.
Good restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Ice cream stalls. Fish and chips. Arcade and Great view over the sea. Always come here when I have spare time.
Pleasant place to visit, pier is fairly cramped and busy. No toilets on pier, lady who was working on the pier was quite rude and said to use the toilets in the town hall which was closed, lovely weather and walk along the seafront. High Street is quite cute and nice to walk up to. Probably stick to using Walton or Clacton pier though as not as cramped, machines aren't as closer together + they have toilets facilities to use :)
It's a really nice pier. It's such a shame it's not open to walk along. That would be really nice.
