Walking, wildlife spotting and fishing in a diverse landscape of meadows, marshes, forest and ponds.
Great park to visit for all ages. Lovely walks and nature trails. Wooded area and open space. Several play areas for children. Good place to walk the dog. Cafe on site.
Brilliant place to visit either for a walk through the woods or bringing your young people to play in the play areas. There is a lovely cafe on site providing a good variety of food and drink. Onsite restrooms too. Picnic areas are available too. Perfect day out for families but also singles.
We came an had a great few hours playing an taking a walk. With 2 young children 5 an 2 with me. They loved it, even when my 2yr fell over an cut her knee I did the best with what I had but the young man in the cafe was so helpful an kind. Offering a cleaning wipe an plaster as it wouldn't stop bleeding. Followed with an ice cream we were then able to carry on our adventure. Its really clean place to come, it's a lovely walk too with great views. It would be helpful to have a ticket machine in the car park just to not have to walk the children back an forth through the carpark especially when they want to just play, bit need to walk right up by the cafe for a ticket to walk all the way back an then back to play.
This is a slightly more 'managed' woodland to visit in that there are visitor things, surfaced paths and landscaped areas, but the range of flora and fauna are true ancient woodland. It's really nice to visit somewhere like this when you are really into plant life, and it was pretty quiet, safe and serene for walking my young dog off lead when I first adopted him, just taking in nature and exploring. There were people visiting on mobility scooters which was nice - lots of the paths are obviously up to standard for their access needs although there are some steps and the ground can be quite wet away from the main paths. There is a cafe and toilets plus play equipment I think, but I didn't visit those myself. You do have to pay for parking but it wasn't very expensive and goes to the management of the woodland.
Really nice park to visit with family and dogs. There is disability parking ( paid) currently PS3.50. Disabled toilet (radar key) , normal toilet, cafe , picnic tables , and couple playgrounds for different age kids. Nice walking path into forest where you can go with dog.
Beautiful place to walk around if you fancy some wooded trails. Lots of facilities at the entrance of the park, and some apparatus for children to play on. Can choose between 3 trails, each varying in the distance you want to walk. So nice when the sun is out, but don't forget wellies! As some bits of the trail can be a bit muddy. Lovely place!
