Fantastic place. Stopped off on trip to our Holiday home near Hadley Suffolk from Leeds West Yorkshire. A gorgeous sunny summers day helped. Nice lunch in one of the cafes and then a trip around the lake with the swans and cormorants sunning themselves in a nearby tree. Fed..watered and relaxed to continue our journey. Perfect.
The parking fees are somewhat high. The location offers a tranquil atmosphere. Although there are a few ferries present, their schedule does not match the posted timings. It is a wonderful spot to unwind, provided the weather allows. There is a small but enjoyable children's play area. The two impressive train options include an ancient coal engine train and a charming little choo-choo train.
Lovely place for families. Lots to explore , have a picnic, barbeque, go cycling or hiking. Beautiful and clean all round.Couple of diferent themed playgrounds to fit all tastes and needs from climbing to water and sand games. Boat ride will cost PS9 per person and return ticket for mini train will cost PS3. There's reasonably priced cafe and small but resourceful shop and clean visitors toilets. If you scared from dogs then avoid this place as there are really lots of them. Also if you have food and snacks with you and go deeper into the park beware that bins are very scarce so have an extra carrier bag for rubbish till you get to the bin.If you not driving you can try Stagecoach special summer service to Nene park where under 10's ride free and adults PS2 one way. If you have tiger pass then PS1 only. Worth a try if you stuck with ideas where to go with kids and spend whole day without spending too much PSPSPS.
Ferry Meadows is one of the last places left in Peterborough where you can walk around and feel like your not in Peterborough. It's peaceful, with stunning views and walks. Very clean toilets available, cafes and a shop to buy snacks and drinks. There is 3 parks for kids to enjoy. Pet friendly and you can cycle round Parking isn't too expensive, but there is plenty of parking available. BBQs dotted around the park to have bbqs on, and plenty of benches and seating dotted around too. Wheelchair accessible and very good paths around the park. Definitely recommend for everyone
I visit ferry meadows very frequently and in my opinion it is the best nature park in the area. It features 3 different child play areas and two lakes with water activities. It also features two very nice cafes which are very accessible. It also has two big car parks. In conclusion I would recommend ferry meadows as a definite visit to anyone in the area.
A beautiful, well maintained park with numerous play areas and other things for children to do. The entrance greets you with a cafe with plenty of seating, as well as a farm shop, toilets and baby change facilities. There are benches throughout the park with BBQ points if you're making a day of it. There looks to be a train and boat trips on the lake but I think they're only open on weekends. Overall, if you compare this to your average country park it'll beat it hands down.
