Fisherton Mill is so much more than an amazing art gallery located in one of Salisbury's most beautiful restored buildings. It's also a friendly and inviting place to visit on days out in this magnificent medieval city, with an ever-changing array of affordable art, regular exhibitions and workshops, plus a dozen artists' studios where you can see skilled craftspeople at work. What's more, if you're feeling peckish, there's a multi-award-winning Cafe serving tasty lunches, simple snacks and delicious coffee and cakes - the only eatery in Salisbury to be recommended in The Good Food Guide 2024 and recognised multiple times in the Observer's national food awards.
We have a friend over from Oz and it was a drizzly old day. Looking for somewhere dog friendly that served welcoming food. Food was great - two of us had the chicken curry and I had the fish cake. Nice selection of wines and soft drinks. Nice to be able to browse some local crafts and jewellery while we Waited for our food (which wasn't long!)
This establishment has a hybrid personality. There is a fine offering of artworks on offer plus tourist trinkets. It is so full (almost over packed) that it is hard to differentiate all the different offerings. A well spent afternoon.
This is a real find - staff are so helpful and delicious lunches, cakes and coffees. Gluten free cakes are available and delicious. Staff knowledgeable about any allergens in food. I am not artistic but the work they have on display from pictures to jewellery to wonderful birthday cards means there is lots to browse.
Today I had the best two hours for a long time. Annmarie Gaynor held an art workshop. A superb teacher who creates a relaxing, fun, stimulating time to explore playing with making marks on a page with various mediums. Highly recommend AM's workshop. Such a delightful afternoon. Thank you.
A very interesting collection of business in the old mill buildings very nice cafe selling sweet and savory food .and drinks. Inside and outside seating. Artisan shops of all types. Used book shop .picture framing shop. And a number of different art galleries and instructional classes. Toilets. And pay carpark a short walk away. Also short walk to the railway station.
