A scenic green space located in the town of Matlock, Derbyshire, Fitzmaurice Park offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The park features beautifully maintained gardens, walking trails, and a picturesque pond, providing a serene atmosphere for visitors to relax and unwind.
First time visit today, really enjoyed it. Ample parking if arriving by car. Not a long walk but pleasant enough with sections of woodland. Was interesting to spot the raised beds with their selection of herbs and vegetables. Looking forward to going back.
Definitely a great park with plenty of greenery and flat land for football, badminton etc. Good area for dogs to roam around too and there's play areas for young children with a hidden zipline and slide within the trees!!!
Nice place. There's a playground for kids, places to play football and quite large parking. Also nice woodland for walks.
Nice areas for a walk, playground for the kids, a big slide and a zip line in the wood. Exercise equipment available and in good condition. Plenty of areas to play tennis and football too. I love this park and I think it is great for families.
Play area is in serious disrepair and the climbing frame is an absolute joke. The slide is tiny, but my 3 year old could barely climb the ladder up to it because there are no grips on the shiny bars and there is such a massive lip over the top he had to lean back to climb over it. There is a fireman's pole attached and the reach from the platform is over a metre away so he couldn't actually reach it but the drop is less than 150cm. It's like whoever designed it had never seen a child close up! Like who is it made for?! Maybe a 7 or 8 year old who is mortally afraid of heights!? The whole place looks like a prison with black 10 foot high spiky bars round it, which look absolutely terrifying. The roundabout has been cordoned off for around a year now with signs saying it's been vandalised, where it looks like it's just old and rotten. The playing areas are ok and there is a zip line which works and there's a rather battered big tube slide in the wooded area. If they sorted the play area out and had public toilets it would be nice.
Great place to walk the dog. A park for children, including a zip wire & slide hidden in the wooded area. Also has an outdoor gym.
