This 46-acre park features a working farm, woodland walks, and a variety of animals, including cows, pigs, sheep, and horses. The farm offers a petting zoo, pony rides, and a play area for kids. Visitors can explore the woodland trails, visit the farm shop, and enjoy a picnic or barbecue in the designated areas. The park also hosts events and activities throughout the year, such as lambing and sheep shearing demonstrations.
Nice walk alongside river. Popular with dog walkers, cycles and scooters but no separate lane so have to keep eye out especially with dogs and children. No facilities for picnics or toilets, although popular with picnics on Riverside/bank
The go-to place if you want to see some local wildlife, tonnes of bird varieties & the hides are decent too. Highly advise sticking around to see the kingfishers! Amazing little things. Also, the smaller more common birds will happily eat out of your hand if you take some food along.
One of my favourite places in Cardiff North, however it has suffered a little bit of neglect in recent years, especially off the main paths. It's also worth noting that whilst the canal is an easy accessible walk for all, the trails that come off this can be very steep and uneven and require a moderate level of fitness. I've seen many a panicked walker back tracking when they realise this. Perhaps better signage and waymarkers indicating difficulty levels of the various paths at key junctions (as other Country Parks do) would help
A great walk along the canal and a lovely place to watch and listen to birds. There are 2 hides on this walk and if your lucky you may see a kingfisher. Lovely Spring flowers in the hedges. You can continue to the River Taff.
Such a beautiful place to visit so tranquil its heavenly
Great for a walk and photographing wildlife. I would give 5 stars but there is an awful sewage smell from a broken pipe near the entrance, which desperately needs fixing, and the road leading up to it is unfortunately used for drifting by boy racers. A shame as this is a nature reserve...
