Welcome to the Forest of Bowland National Landscape - the new name for the UK's designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. National Landscapes are the places where our stories come to life. The places that make us who we are. A living patchwork where outstanding beauty isn't only found in nature, but in communities working together to grow and change and thrive. Our mission is to protect and regenerate these special landscapes and to make sure everyone can enjoy them. Because there's space for so many more stories to be told. For a year-round calendar of events celebrating the birds, wildlife, landscape and culture of the Forest of Bowland visit the website.
Lovely place to visit if you like walking. Highly recommended
Amazing place to visit the walk takes you through some beautiful landscapes a must for everyone.
Visited the place on a quiet weekday, barely anyone around. You can follow the Stock's Loop trail which is officially 10.8km in distance. Easy to follow with the signposts situated periodically. Great views and pretty flat gradients apart from a small one from the car park.
Lovely place, views are absolutely stunning. We went here end of September and the weather was very wet, rained on and off most days. Managed to do a few walk and bike rides though. Reminded me of the lake district both beautiful places to visit
A beautiful area with lovely walks in the rolling hills of the English countryside. There are so many options for hikes and things to see - Dunsop Bridge, Stocks Reservoir, Longridge Fell and picturesque villages like Waddington. Also many great country pubs and restaurants, not least the wonderful Inn at Whitewell.
Stunning location! In February beautiful autumnal colours throughout. Wonderful views with trails for walking and biking. Great spot
