Fort Perch Rock is a former defence installation situated at the mouth of Liverpool Bay in New Brighton. Built in the 1820s to defend the Port of Liverpool, its function has changed from defensive, to tourist attraction and museum. It has a cafe and bar called The Mess, which is open 7 days a week. It is a venue for musical concerts and family activities and has been listed as a Grade II* Listed Building. A World War 2 escape room concept "Escape The Fort" operates within the Fort 7 days a week.
Went to one of the music gig events - this one Bootleg Blondie. Great setting with okay prices for food and drinks. Sound was good and also you can get up close to the stage if you want. There is some seating although once the music starts you just want to get up and dance. Overall well organised and the venue felt very safe. Historically the location is good with lots of atmosphere. Recommended for music or a visit. There is a coffee shop with some food options. Again, good.
Both an Interesting & striking looking landmark on the Northern tip of the Wirral & right on New Brighton beach. It's an Old (sea) Fort built during the Napoleonic Wars over 200 years ago. It's purpose to prevent the fleet or Armada sailing up the Mersey & invading England & all her Glory . Nowadays the Fort, still in immaculate condition houses a pub & restaurant which is open daily & welcomes dog's which is always good after a walk along the beach & around the Perch Rock at low tide...
Lovely weather..fond memories of this place from many years ago..had a walk along the front..really busy happy atmosphere..will always pop back
Really nice little place hidden inside the Fort. It's small and cosy inside with friendly staff. It was seemingly a military mess (bar) in the distant past, with a few reminders seen in the decor. There are a few small tables for 2/4 and a few bench style for 8 or so. We've only had coffee and toasted breakfast sandwiches, but they have more substantial items on the menu, if you are looking for a meal. Give it a look, you might be surprised in a nice way
Went to the Judge Jules night, great atmosphere, nice venue with great friendly staff.
The bar/cafe is open to all and has some nice food and good drinks. The escape rooms need to be booked in advance. We did one one yesterday and it was fantastic. I have never done one before, but my partner and I really enjoyed it. The world war 2 theme was really cool and it was great to actually get into the fort. The the actor who guided us through always stayed in character and just made the whole experience awesome.
