Stayed at this wonderful campsite in a touring caravan. The owner was so catering made sure we were ok upon arrival and departure. Honestly I am impressed so quiet . You see a variety of birds that come to say hello most morning , lively sound of the cows in the mornings too. Honesty one of the best campsites I have been too in ages . Definitely will go back ,to stay in the Shepard's huts. The owner is all around with his lovely dogs Rosie and Daisy , they often pop Over and say hello too. Thankyou so much to Peter for letting me and my little family stay ( puppy and baby. Honestly a lovely place .
Had a lovely stay in a shepherd's hut. Hot tube was fantastic. Peter was a great host.
No stars rating for rooms as we were in our touring caravan (RV). We were there through storm Ciaran. This did have an impact on the site with the amount of water, everything was waterlogged, not the sites fault. I Would say this site is rustic, great for a chill out time. When we arrived we were the only ones on site, but some of the shepherd huts were occupied. They wernt part of the CL, but were visible from our pitch. Another caravan turned up half way through our stay. Fully serviced pitch, 16a electric, with mains water and drain on each pitch. A shepherd's hut as toilet/shower, which was clean and tidy. The Elsan point was on the back of the the toilet/shower shepherd's hut. We did not use the shower, but used our own in the caravan. The T&C's state that the shower is unavailable from the end of October. It would nice to return when the weather is better, so perhaps we will return.
Loved our stay here. Owner very friendly. Plenty of country roads to walk. Easy walk into Chard with a variety of supermarkets. Lovely dog friendly coffee shop as well. Sorry, I forgot its name. The foot paths were very muddy while we were there. Nobody's fault!!. Will definitely go back.
Lovely peaceful site, with hard standings and large serviced pitches, well kept and tidy. Fantastic information pack given to us by helpful and friendly owner Peter. All we could hear sitting outside our van was the birds!
Fantastic little CL camp site & really quiet. Beautifully level parking for motorhome, water, gray waste & electric right beside each pitch, very clean tidy site with shower & toilet. Well behaved dogs allowed & some great walking on the doorstep. If we're in the area again we would definitely use this site again.
