Calling this place a Fossil Forest is entirely misleading as all of the fossilised trees are long gone. There are a couple of pieces from elsewhere to show you what you're missing but that's rather besides the point. Still it is a beautiful location although everywhere here is highly attractive so I wouldn't make the fairly steep trek just for that. What you can see are the fossilised remains of algae which are interesting enough if you're into stromatolites.
