The Fyrish Monument is a 12-meter-tall granite obelisk situated in Fyrish, Perthshire, Scotland. Built in 1866, it commemorates Sir John Drummond of Fyrish, a local landowner and philanthropist. The monument offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and is surrounded by a small woodland area.
Unmissable views (but you might not see them if it is rainy and overcast). Google Maps will want to take you further than the car park but you really can't get any closer - it will just take you to a private entrance and you will have to turn around. Do not try to use the walking GoogleMaps feature as it will want to take you all the way around. It is a fairly clear walk UP through woodland. There are beautiful plants, bridges and streams. Aim straight, it will gradually curve round to the right but do not take any of the left or right turns. On a clear day you will eventually start to see the views on your left - you are on the right path. You will see or appear before you and it is vast and beautiful especially with the view as the backdrop but even on a rainy day there is a somber and impressive aura.
Pretty, steady incline walk up to the monument. The top is flat with lovely views beyond the monument. It's not too challenging but the path can get very muddy and slippery so be sure to wear suitable footwear.
Steep medium-difficulty 3km hike up ca. 1470ft. Very impressive forest walk and scenery on a cloudy day. Definitely recommended! Dog owners beware to collect your dog's waste and keep your best friends on the leash as this forest is protected.
Great walk and the views are amazing, from the car park is around 3km to walk , and probably around 40min , the walk is not difficult and close to the top the views are quite nice , in my opinion the walk and close to top views are what is worth , the monument it self is not that wow
Good walk, definitely worth visiting if in Invergordon! Quick a steep walk up, took us 1 hour from the car park, and not far from the cruise terminal (in a taxi)! Amazing views from the top! A woody walk initially and then it opens up and there's an amazing view from the top!
Quite a tough walk, incredibly steep but the views at the top are really stunning
