This place is absolutely amazing, and incredible survival of a Tudor building. Considering how many times it has been repurposed over the last few hundred years, English Heritage have done an amazing job in preservation and presentation of it's long and varied history. If you have ever wanted to eat fresh mulberries straight off the trees then then this is the place to come! Also an excellent coffee shop!
What a gem of a place! We are EH members but didn't know about this place for some reason and we are only around an hour's drive away. We visited at the weekend and we're blown away by it's beauty - the history this place holds is phenomenal and the detail in what they have managed to preserve is astonishing. If you don't walk around upstairs and feel drunk then you've not done it right! The kitchen is fascinating and you get a real feeling for how things would have been run back then. We booked in advance although didn't need to as it was quiet when we arrived. The cafe is lovely, we enjoyed a chai latte and bought some lovely books for.our boys from the second hand book shop. We will be taking our son back who is a massive history lover - a visit highly recommended!!
Absolute lovely place to visit. Very friendly staff and good food. Was fortunate enough to have a tour of the hall with their guide Caroline. Really lovely lady with an abundance of knowledge about the hall, the area, and associated links. She was entertaining and fun and gave us plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Can't thank her enough for making a good visit, great. A total gem of a place and a must visit when in the area. Thanks for a great day.

The view from the top of the tower is well worth the climb, and the medieval kitchen is amazing. There is a nice cafe in the hall. If you buy your tickets online in advance you get a discount.
Lovely old tudor manor house. Has a very interesting history and it shows how the hall evolved with Gainsborough. The guides were amazing in their knowledge and so friendly. Have a wonderful gift shop, cafe and second hand book stall.
